The Baltimore Orioles are hosting the Tampa Bay Rays tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv as well as in both markets. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Rays favored on the road to get the victory.
Chris Archer throws tonight for the Rays, making them a road favorite over Baltimore. Archer is just 11-10 on the season with a 2.88 ERA in 27 starts. He lost his most recent start, however, giving up four runs to Minnesota on nine hits despite striking out 12. That loss continued Archer's recent struggles, where he is now 2-6 in his last 11 starts with a 4.13 ERA.
Against Baltimore Archer hasn't had the best success, either, going 1-3 with a 5.31 ERA in seven starts. His only start at Camden Yards saw him surrender seven runs on 12 hits in five innings of work. Current Orioles are hitting .297 against him in 111 at bats. Steve Pearce has two home runs against him, Caleb Joseph and Chris Davis have each gone deep as well.
The Orioles will be sending Wei-Yin Chen to the mound. The left is 8-6 with a 3.17 ERA in 25 starts this season, current Rays are hitting .281 against him in 199 plate appearances. Logan Forsythe has homered three times, seven other Rays have homered against him as well. Evan Longoria, who usually hits lefties well, leads the Rays with nine career hits against Chen.
Chen owns a record of 4-0 in his last seven starts, but he's been giving up some runs in those games. This will be the fifth time Chen has thrown against Tampa Bay this season, he's yet to give up four runs in any of those starts.
Both teams are under .500 and their seasons are probably over. The Orioles are good at home, Tampa Bay has been a .500 club on the road. This one should be interesting, but we'll take the Rays.

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
