Major League Baseball Seattle Mariners at San Diego Padres Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The San Diego Padres welcome in the Seattle Mariners tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 10:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Padres favored to pick up the win in this one at home.

The Padres and Mariners are the final game to start on Tuesday's docket, a couple of struggling teams looking to get things going in the right direction. The Mariners are eight games under the .500 mark for the year, the Padres come in four games under the .500 mark themselves.

Ian Kennedy will star for San Diego tonight. He's 4-6 on the year with a 5.09 ERA and his numbers are inflated from his time at home. Kennedy is 2-3 in his own ballpark this season, having started seven games and throwing 34 1/3 innings. His 6.82 ERA in home starts is hard to believe, he's given up 10 home runs there as well.

Current Mariners have a .313 average against him in 64 plate appearances. Logan Morrison has homered twice, Kyle Seager and Seth Smith each own a home run as well. Mark Trumbo has three hits in eight at bats. Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz are a combined 1-for-7.

Seattle will throw Mike Montgomery, who is looking to eat some innings. Montgomery just threw nine innings and scattered just five hits in a complete game shutout over the Kansas City Royals. He struck out 10 in that game and threw only 105 pitches as he earned his second win of the season.

No Padres have at bats against the young lefty.

The Mariners are now 17-23 on the road, San Diego is just 18-20 in home games. Both teams have been outscored by a combined 83 runs this season. With both teams continuing to struggle, the safe option will be to expect some runs being scored tonight.

Free Pick: OVER seven runs

Movie Stop the All-Star Game Ballot Stuffing

Pro handicappers Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik have a bone to pick with MLB Commisioner Bud Selig, who decided the All-Star exhibition game will determine World Series home field advantage. With Royals fans currently voting seven Kansas City players into the starting line up of the American League team, this popularity-based roster of an exhibition game which has way too much impact on the most important baseball series of the year.
