Major league baseball on Saturday night and I will have a free pick in the game between the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers, which will take place at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. First pitch is scheduled for an 8:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.
Over/ Under: 9 U -115
The Rangers went out and got Cole Hamels and he will be making his first start for a Rangers team that is just 3 games behind in a race for a Wildcard slot. The Giants are just 1 game an a half behind the Dodgers in the NL West, but still of the playoffs started today they would have a wildcard spot. This is an important series for both teams.
San Francisco ranks 10th in scoring (4.31 rpg), 3rd in hitting (.272) and 23rd in homers (83), while on the mound they are 12th in ERA (3.67) and 11th in WHIP (1.24). The Rangers rank 8th in scoring (4.39 rpg), 16th in hitting (.252) and 10th in homers (107), while on the mound they are 28th in ERA (4.52) and 28th in WHIP (1.41).
Getting the ball for the Giants tonight will be Chris Heston, who is 11-5 with a 3.14 ERA overall, while on the road he has gone 6-1 with a 3.86 ERA. Chris has never faced the Rangers.
Taking the hill for the Rangers tonight will be Cole Hamels, who will be making his first start for the Rangers. For the Phils this year he was 6-7 with a 3.74 ERA. In his career vs the Giants he has gone 6-4 with a 4.21 ERA in 15 starts.
Pick: Cole Hamels gets his first start for the Rangers, but his is taking on a familiar team in the Giants. Still in 15 career starts vs them he does have a 4.21 ERA and the Giant offense has been solid on the road where they have averaged a solid 4.86 rpg. We also have Hamels in a letdown spot as he is off a no-hitter vs the Cubs and in his 2 starts before that he did allow 14 ERs. Chris Heston has been solid of late and he does have just a 3.86 ERA on the road this year, but his road starts have averaged a hefty 11.44 rpg and the Rangers offense is hot as they come in averaging 6.20 rpg in their last 10 games. Giant road games have gone 30-15-4 to the over this year, while Ranger home games have averaged 9.77 rpg. Should see a lot of runs in Texas tonight.

College Football Betting Pick: Utah vs Michigan
Jim Harbaugh is worth six points to Michigan according to the recently released Golden Nugget NCAA Football odds, but pro bettors Steve Fezzik and Scott Spreitzer think fans are expecting way too much way too soon for the new Wolverines head coach. In this 9/3/2015 match up, the guys think the Utes are on the way up, recruiting top Pac-12 talent, while Harbaugh and company will be struggling to find their stride this early in the season.
