Major League Baseball San Diego Padres at Atlanta Braves Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Atlanta Braves take on the San Diego Padres today on Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 12:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Braves as a favorite here at home to pick up the win.

San Diego starter Andrew Cashner has been unlucky this season, opening his 2015 campaign with a 2-8 record. From April 13 to May 27 Cashner made nine starts and gave up just 16 earned runs during that time, but only won twice, picked up six losses and had one no decision.

Cashner finds himself with an ERA of 4.05 as well, which isn't great, but it's bloated in the last two starts. As solid as Cashner was in his last nine outings, the last two against the Mets and Reds have been awful. Cashner surrendered 12 total earned runs during that time, throwing just over 10 innings in two starts. The Padres lost 7-0 to the Mets, but rallied to earn Cashner a no decision against Cincinnati 9-7 in his last start.

Current Braves are hitting .267 against him in 45 at bats, nobody has homered. Juan Uribe own eight hits (two doubles) in 20 at bats for a .400 average. He's the only Brave with more than a single base hit against Cashner.

Atlanta will send Julio Teheran to the bump. He's 4-2 but has a 4.87 ERA in 12 outings. Road games have been tough to Teheran, having given up 28 earned runs in seven starts. Home has been a bit different, though. Teheran has surrendered just nine earned runs in five starts at home, Atlanta has won four of those starts.

Current Padres own a .234 average against him in 47 plate appearances. Justin Upton and Will Venable both own home runs against him, Yangervis Solarte has two hits in three at bats.

Teheran has been solid at Turner Field this season. His success against the Padres also plays into today's game, which should be low-scoring. We'll take the Braves at home as Teheran looks to improve his home record.

Movie Betting and Winning in the WNBA

According to pro handicapper Steve Fezzik, you don't even need to watch WNBA games to successfully bet the sport. He tells fellow handicapper Teddy Covers that the sportsbooks simply don't spend enough time setting good lines on the sport, so just following injury reports, like the one with top player Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury, will tell you what you need to know. Yes, the betting limits for WNBA are low, but the bright side to that is the wise guys leave WNBA alone, giving smaller stakes bettors more opportunities to succeed.
