The Major League Baseball week continues this evening with a matchup between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on TBS. Currently the MLB Odds for the contest have the Yankees listed as a decent favorite to pick up the win in this one at home.

I am taking the Yankees here to beat the Mets tonight. The -160 price tag is a bit high, but I feel confident in the Pinstripes getting the job done at home in this one. Sure, this is a tough spot after the Yankees split a series with the Rays.

The Mets won both games over the Yanks back in late June, now its time for the Yankees to take care of business. It's the first of two games and features Jose Quintana (4-6, 4.13) against Luis Gil (10-5, 3.17). Gil has been very strong this season for being a youngster and he's been mowing guys down, averaging better than 10 strikeouts per nine innings. 

It's worth noting that the Mets got to Gil earlier this year, scoring five earned in 4 1/3 innings. I like Gil to be able to get that fixed for tonight's game. Gil has been strong all year at home and I expect that to continue here tonight.
