The MLB season continues this evening with a game between the Minnesota Twins and the host Chicago Cubs. The game is scheduled for a 2:20 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB Network. Currently the Major League Baseball Odds for the contest have the Twins listed as the favorites to pick up the victory in this one on the road.

The Minnesota Twins look to get back to winning here today against the Cubs. They dropped a game last night, breaking the team's five-game winning streak as they look to run down the first-place Cleveland Guardians. Minnesota turns to Joe Ryan (7-7, 3.59) today and he's an inning eater, tossing at least five innings in each of his starts this season.
Ryan is also a guy you can count on to get strikeouts. He's 14th in the league in strikeouts per nine innings (9.81) and the Cubs rank inside the Top 10 in the league in strikeouts. This is a matchup where I think Ryan can have a strong start.
Javier Assad (5-3, 3.19) gets the ball for the Cubs. He's been more than serviceable for the Cubs this year and he has strong numbers at home, going 2-1 with a 2.20 ERA in 10 starts. But in his last 10 starts overall, Assad has factored into just four decisions, three of those were losses.
Minnesota is in a nice position to get back in the win column here today. I like the starting pitching matchup here with Ryan having a good outing and the Twins being able to scratch enough runs across to win.
