Backed the Dodgers last night and picked up a nice win in extra innings. Both pitching staffs fared well and Yoshinobo Yamamoto was lights out for the Dodgers. Tonight we have a pitching matchup that could prove to once again be one to watch.
Nestor Cortes (3-4, 3.46) starts for the Pinstripes while Gavin Stone (6-2, 2.90) gets the ball for the Dodgers. Yes, Stone has been very solid this season for the Dodgers after being kinda bad last year. He's allowed one run or fewer in six of his seven starts this season and hasn't allowed a run to cross the plate in 12 innings. Cortes had a really solid June, giving up just eight earned runs in 29 innings covering five starts. He was rocky his last time out, though, in a win over the Giants in giving up three earned runs and lasting only 4 1/3 innings.
Honestly, I like the offenses here to score some runs. We probably won't see Juan Soto play for the Yanks tonight, but after last night's low-scoring affair, I'm expecting both teams to be able to score some runs tonight. Two very strong offenses here.
