The Major League Baseball season continues this evening with a game between the Texas Rangers and the visiting Detroit Tigers. The game is scheduled for an 8:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the MLB Odds for the game have the Tigers listed as a small favorite to pick up the win here on the road.

I am making a play on the Detroit Tigers here tonight. Texas, the defending champions, still hasn't been able to fully find their footing through the opening two months of the season. Detroit is a .500 team so far this year as well, but tonight they have the best pitcher in baseball on the mound with Tarik Skubal.

Skubal (7-1, 2.01) already faced the Rangers earlier this year and two of the four runs were unearned. He threw only 86 pitches in 6 1/3 innings, so he was efficient even thought Detroit lost. Texas counters with Nate Eovaldi (2-2, 2.84), he's been strong this season as well. Both of these guys can dial it up and pile up the strikeouts as well, so this should be an entertaining game if you're into pitching.

I like how the Tigers offense is starting to look better. They've been scoring runs at a better pace the last 10 games or so and I expect them to scratch enough across with Skubal on the mound to pick up the win on the road. Detroit has been decent (15-15) away from home as well this year.
