Major League Baseball Colorado Rockies at Oakland Athletics Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Colorado Rockies are on the road tonight when they take on the Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 10:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Athletics favored to pick up the win in this one at home.

Oakland will send Sonny Gray to the mound tonight. He's been dynamite all season with his nine victories and the 2.09 ERA is just remarkable. He's made seven home starts this season and thrown more than 50 innings, but has just a 3-2 record despite having just a 2.32 ERA in Oakland.

Gray, the young righty, has allowed just nine walks to opponents in those 50 1/3 innings, opponents are hitting just .185 against him in Oakland as well.

Current Rockies have just six plate appearances against Gray, they've all come from Brandon Barnes, who is 0-for-6 with three strikeouts.

Colorado has lost three straight games overall and are living in the cellar. The Rockies are nine games outside of first place and will send Jorge De La Rosa to the mound tonight. He missed his last start because of a cut on his throwing hand and is now 4-3 on the season with a 5.15 ERA.

Current Athletics own a .364 average against him. Sam Fuld and Ben Zobrist each have two hits against him in their careers. And typical to Coors Field, De La Rosa has just awful numbers at home, going 2-2 with a 6.81 ERA in 38 1/3 innings. He's allowed 29 earned runs in eight starts at home, opponents are hitting .301 against him at Coors Field.

On the road, though, De La Rosa has a 1.86 ERA and a 2-1 record in three starts. That's not bad. Plus Oakland's park seems to swallow up all potential home run threats, De La Rosa has yet to allow a home run on the road this season.

While the Rockies could have a nice shot with De La Rosa, Gray is just putting up monster numbers.

Movie Stop the All-Star Game Ballot Stuffing

Pro handicappers Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik have a bone to pick with MLB Commisioner Bud Selig, who decided the All-Star exhibition game will determine World Series home field advantage. With Royals fans currently voting seven Kansas City players into the starting line up of the American League team, this popularity-based roster of an exhibition game which has way too much impact on the most important baseball series of the year.
