The Major League Baseball season continues this evening with a contest between the host Milwaukee Brewers and the visiting Cleveland Guardians. The game is scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the betting odds for the matchup have the Brewers favored to pick up the victory at home.
Major League Baseball odds
Milwaukee -135, Cleveland +115
Total: O 7 runs (-125), U 7 runs (+105)
Excellent matchup here between a pair of division leaders. Milwaukee won't be caught in the NL Central as the Brewers currently hold a 10-game lead. Cleveland finds itself in a much tighter race with just a three-game advantage over Minnesota. Cleveland and Milwaukee are where they are in large part because of their run differentials to this point in the year — Milwaukee is tied with the Dodgers for the highest in the National League (+103) and Cleveland's +81 marks fourth-best in the American League.
Obviously, makes this game important tonight. Potentially sneaky good pitching matchup between Tanner Bibee (10-4, 3.39) and Freddy Peralta (7-7, 4.11). Both pitching staffs are solid and the teams have solid run differentials because of that. But in tonight's game I expect there to be some action with both offenses and the lower total (seven runs) is one I look to see be surpassed because of both teams crossing the plate.
Peralta has been a bit shaky of late, allowing three or more earned runs in five of his last seven starts. I like Cleveland to find a way to get a win here on the road, but the Brewers are tough and have won three consecutive games.
