Major League Baseball on Wednesday night and I will have a Free Pick in the game between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels, which will be played at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. First pitch is scheduled for a 7:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.
Over/ Under: 8 U -115
This is game 3 of a 3 game series between these American League foes. The Halos have taken the first two games of this series, but still haven't been able to make up ground on the Houston Astros in the AL West. The Angels are 4 games behind Houston. The Yanks are not really playing good ball right now, but they are still just a half a game behind the Orioles and the Rays in the AL East.
The Yankees rank 2nd in scoring (4.68 rpg), 12th in hitting (.255) and 2nd in homers (103), while on the mound they are 22nd in ERA (4.07) and 16th in WHIP (1.28). Los Angeles ranks 23rd in scoring (3.87 rpg), 24th in hitting (.242) and 9th in homers (80), while on the mound they are 11th in ERA (3.67) and 7th in WHIP (1.20).
Getting the ball for New York tonight will be Nathan Eovaldi, who is 7-2 with a 4.81 ERA on the year overall, while on the road he has gone 5-2 with a 5.83 ERA. Nathan is 0-1 with a 4.90 ERA in 3 career starts vs the Halos.
Toeing the rubber for the Angels tonight will be Matt Shoemaker, who is 4-6 with a 5.03 ERA in 14 starts this year, while at home he has gone 0-5 with a 4.82 ERA. This will be Matt's first ever appearance vs the Yankees.
Pick: Money is coming in on the Under, but i don't see that at all here. Yes the yanks have struggled to score of late, but shoemaker has been bad this year, especially at home where he has a 4.82 ERA on the year. Nathan Eovaldi has some strange numbers as he has a winning record on the year (7-2), but with a high 4.82 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. He is 2-1 in his last 3 starts, but with an 8.53 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. On the road he is 3-2 with a 5.83 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP. At night he is 5-2 with a 5.55 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. Bottom line is he wins games but is getting hit hard in them and that leads to high scoring games. His games this year have averaged 10.4 rpg, while Shoemaker's have put up 8.71. I see this one as another high scoring game.

Wanna Bet Ohio State Buckeyes Go Undefeated?
Las Vegas bettors Steve Fezzik and Scott Spreitzer talk about the monster favorites to win the 2015-2016 college football season, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Vegas is trying to convince bettors to wager that the reigning National Champions will go 12-0 in the 2015-16 season, but Fezzik explains that the math is more profitable for bettors to bet over 11 instead of over 11.5. Yes, the guys think this team, which has only lost one game in three years are more often than note gonna go undefeated, but they have better bets for Buckeye fans.
