Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball Betting Odds Free Pick

Major League Baseball on Tuesday night and I will have a Free Pick in the game between the Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Mariners, which will be played at Safeco Field in Seattle. First pitch is scheduled for a 10:10 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.

Betting Odds

Royals                  -118
Mariners              +108

Over/ Under: 7 O -120

This is game 2 of a 3 game series between these American League foes. The Kansas City Royals come in with the best record in the American League and they added on to that by taking game 1 of this series last night . The Royals lead the AL Central by 3.5 games over the Twins and they are 18-14 on the road so far. The Mariners have not had a good year so far as they have gone just 32-39 overall and just 16-22 at home. The Mariners are in 4th place in the AL West. The Royals rank 8th in scoring (4.40 rpg), while on the mound they are 6th in ERA (3.52). Seattle ranks 29th in scoring (3.40 rpg), while on the mound they are 13th in ERA (3.82).

Trend for this game include: The Royals are 7-1 in Guthrie's last 8 starts during game 2 of a series and 10-3 in his last 13 road starts, but just 1-6 in their last 7 road games vs. a left-handed starter. The Mariners have gone 8-3 in their last 11 during game 2 of a series, but just 5-13 in their last 18 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5 and 2-11 in their last 13 games as a favorite.

Getting the ball for Kansas City tonight will be Jeremy Guthrie, who has gone 5-4 with a 5.55 ERA on the year overall, while on the road he has gone 3-2 with a 7.71 ERA. Jeremy has struggled with the Mariners in his career as he has gone just 2-7 with a 5.40 ERA in 13 starts vs them, while at Safeco Field he is 2-3 with a 4.60 ERA in 7 starts.

Toeing the rubber for the Mariners tonight will be Mike Montgomery, who is 1-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 4 starts this year, while at home he has gone 0-2 with a 3.10 ERA in 3 starts. He has yet to face the Royals.

Pick: Going with the under here. Mike Montgomery has been solid in his brief career so far and while he is 0-2 in 3 starts at home, he has a 3.10 ERA in those games. His home starts have averaged just 6.3 rpg. Jeremy Guthrie has struggled this year, especially on the road, but Seattle has averaged just 2.7 rpg in their last 7 game, plus they have hit just .193 vs righties in their last 10 games. Neither offense is killing the ball and in a pitchers park that should really keep the scoring down.

MovieBetting and Winning in the WNBA
According to pro handicapper Steve Fezzik, you don't even need to watch WNBA games to successfully bet the sport. He tells fellow handicapper Teddy Covers that the sportsbooks simply don't spend enough time setting good lines on the sport, so just following injury reports, like the one with top player Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury, will tell you what you need to know. Yes, the betting limits for WNBA are low, but the bright side to that is the wise guys leave WNBA alone, giving smaller stakes bettors more opportunities to succeed.
