The 8-4 Indianapolis Colts will battle the 8-4 Cincinnati Bengals this weekend as they jockey for position in the AFC Playoffs. Sunday's meeting between the Colts and Bengals is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00pm ET at Paul Brown Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on CBS. NFL Point Spreads from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes have Cincinnati listed as a -6 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 43.5 points.
The Colts resume is a sparkling one as they own wins over the 49ers, Seahawks, and Broncos, but they enter Sunday's meeting with the Bengals, a contest which could well determine the three and four seeds in the AFC Playoffs, in a bit of a funk.
Indianapolis is coming off a 22-14 home win over AFC South rival Tennessee, but it is 2-2 in its last four and two of its last three wins have come by three points.
Every team, even the league's best, seems to lose its way on occasion, but the nature of the Colts last two losses were particularly disturbing.
Indy did not just lose, it got blasted 38-8 on its home turf by the Rams and it fell 40-11 on the road in Arizona.
Andrew Luck's performance over the last four weeks is also cause for concern. The Stanford product has thrown two touchdowns to five interception while amassing an abysmal 66.8 passer rating since the Colts defeated the Texans 27-24 on November 3rd.
Unfortunately for Luck and his cohorts, Cincinnati does not look like the best place to get back on track.
The Bengals lost back to back road games in weeks nine and 10, but they have since knocked off the Browns 41-20 and the Chargers 17-10. Cincinnati is also a perfect 5-0 at home this season with wins over the Steelers, Packers, Patriots, Jets, and Browns.
Notable Trends: The Bengals are 6-1-1 against the spread and 8-0 straight up in their last eight games as a home favorite with a spread between 4 and 7.5 points.
Indianapolis Colts vs Cincinnati Bengals NFL Point Spreads:
Indianapolis Colts +6 (-110), Over 43.5 (-110), +210 (Moneyline)
Cincinnati Bengals -6 (-110), Under 43.5 (-110), -250 (Moneyline)
