The reeling Golden State Warriors will look to get the second half started on a better note than the first half ended as they square off the Utah Jazz later tonight. The two Western Conference rivals are scheduled to take the court at Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena at 9:00pm ET. The latest NBA Odds have the Jazz listed as a -3.5 against the spread home favorites and the game total set at 203.5 points. The Warriors are drawing +145 moneyline odds ($100 wins $145) to end their five games skid.
Golden State still sits second in the Pacific Division with a 30-22 record, but it will need to collect itself if it hopes to maintain its current standing. The Warriors limped into the All-Star break as they returned home from a 0-4 road trip only to lose to the Rockets 116-107.
Not only did Golden State lose those five games, it was hardly competitive in any of them. The closest the Warriors came to sniffing out a victory came in a 99-93 February 8th loss at Memphis; they dropped the other four games by an average of 21.5 points per contest (allowed an average of 122.8 points per game in those outings).
Unfortunately for the Warriors, their assignment tonight is not an easy one. While the Jazz are not an elite team, they are a good one, especially at the EnergySolutions Arena.
Utah, which improved to 30-24 after back to back wins last week, is 20-6 as a host this season. And, while Golden State did earn a 94-83 earlier this season, it has dropped nine of its last 12 at the EnergySolutions Arena.
Notable Trends: The Warriors are 4-0 both straight up and against the spread in their last four games as a road dog with a spread between 0 and 3.5 and total between 200 and 205 points (the Over was 9-1 in those games). The Jazz are 7-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last eight games as a home favorite with a spread between 0 and 3.5.
Golden State Warriors vs Utah Jazz NBA Odds:
Golden State Warriors +3.5 (-110), Over 203.5 (-110), +145 (Moneyline)
Utah Jazz -3.5 (-110), Under 203.5 (-110), -165 (Moneyline)
