The surging Golden State Warriors kick start a four game road swing tonight with a stop at the United Center in Chicago. This evening’s inter-conference meeting between the Warriors and Bulls has a scheduled start time of 8:00pm ET. NBA Odds are favoring Chicago at -2 against the spread; the game total is set at 189 points. Golden State is listed as a +110 moneyline play to win a fourth straight game.
Golden State lost five of six games between January 5th and 18th, but has since regrouped and rides a three game winning streak into tonight’s meeting with Chicago.
The Warriors, who are 26-15 overall and 12-9 on the road, capped off a mini two game home set on Wednesday night with a 104-99 win over Oklahoma City. Stephen Curry had a brutal night from beyond the arc (3-of-14), but he managed to lead Golden State past the Thunder anyway, compiling a stat line that featured 31 points, seven assists, and four steals.
Golden State, which averages 100.7 points per game away from home (fourth best in the league), hit 24 of its 27 free throws in the win.
Chicago enters this evening’s game riding a surge of its own. The Bulls have won five of their last six games to improve to 25-16 and move into a first place tie with Indiana in the Central Division standings.
The Bulls, who close out a four game home stand tonight, registered their 13th home win of the season on Wednesday night with an 85-82 win over the rival Pistons. Chicago, which continues to play without Luol Deng, had six players score in double figures, including reserves Taj Gibson and Nate Robinson. Joakim Noah finished the game with 10 points and 18 rebounds.
The Bulls are 9-1 straight up and 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games against Golden State at the United Center; however, they have not hosted the Warriors since November of 2010. Golden State has won and covered the spread in three of the last four meetings between these two teams and it is 6-1 against the spread in its last seven games as a road dog with a total between 185 and 190 points (Over 6-1 in those games).
