Major League Baseball Friday Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Odds Free Pick

Friday night major league baseball and we will see the Milwaukee Brewers travel to Chavez Ravine to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in game 1 of their 3 game series. Free Pick to follow. First pitch is scheduled for a 10:10 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.

Betting Odds

Brewers                 +154
Dodgers                  -164

Over/ Under: 7 O -120

Milwaukee has been playing better ball of late as they come into this game having won 9 of their last 11 games, but still they are 13 games under .500 and 19 games behind division leading St Louis in the NL Central. The Los Angeles Dodgers just took 3 of 4 from Philadelphia, with the last 2 games being shutout wins. The Dodgers have extended their lead in the NL West to 5.5 games over both Arizona nd San Francisco. The Brewers rank 18th in scoring (4.00 rpg), while on the mound they are 27th in ERA (4.28). The Dodgers rank 13th in scoring (4.23 rpg), while on the mound they are 4th in ERA (3.28).

Trends for this game include: The Brewers are 7-1 in their last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter, but just 4-17 in their last 21 vs the NL West, while the Dodgers are 21-6 in their last 27 games as a home favorite of -151 to -200 and 42-19 in their last 61 home games.

Getting the ball for the Brewers tonight will be Jimmy Nelson, who is 6-8 with a 4.50 ERA on the year overall, while on the road he has gone 4-5 with a 4.97 ERA. Jimmy is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 2 career starts vs the Dodgers.

Taking the hill for the Dodgers tonight will be Michael Bolsinger, who is 4-3 with a 3.09 ERA in 12 starts this year, while at home he has gone 4-2 with a 2.92 ERA in 6 starts. Bolsinger is 0-1 with a 5.56 ERA in 2 career starts vs the Brew Crew.

Pick: I have to go with the Dodgers in this one. They are locked in on the mound right now and I feel their offense is getting better and should have a good showing vs Nelson, who has struggled on the road this year with a 4-5 record and a 4.97 ERA. The Brewers are just a game under .500 on the road, but the Dodgers have been excellent at home this year and I just can't see the Brewers coming in and taking the momentum away from the Dodgers that they have built up of late. At least not in this game anyway. The Dodgers continue to roll here behind another solid outing from Bolsinger.

MLB Betting Strategy: Don't Snub All-Star Pitching Snubs
Just because the All-Star Game doesn't want Clayton Kershaw doesn't mean sports bettors shouldn't. Vegas gambling expert Scott Spreitzer explains why your MLB picks should favor snubbed pitchers for this year's All-Star Game in Cincinnati. With added motivation and extended rest from the All-Star break, Scott thinks they are profitable pitchers to back.
