LSU will conclude its regular season schedule tomorrow afternoon when it faces SEC West rival Arkansas at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville (2:30pm ET start time, CBS). The Razorbacks are drawing +350 moneyline odds ($100 wins $350) to hand LSU its third loss of the season.
While it could be said that both Arkansas and LSU have turned in disappointing seasons, it is certain the Razorbacks 2012 campaign has been, by far, the more dismal of the two.
The Tigers have pieced together an impressive 9-2 record, they just fell short of the BCS title expectations some hoisted on the program. Arkansas, on the other hand, has been horrendous in almost every regard, posting a 4-7 record in a season where some felt they could pose a mild threat to LSU and Alabama in the West Division.
Further, the Razorbacks have turned in some absolute dog efforts, especially against the conference’s elite teams. Arkansas is 0-4 against winning SEC squads as it lost to Alabama, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Mississippi State by an average of 37.3 points per game.
Given those numbers, it is hard to imagine anyone backing Arkansas in this game. The Razorbacks will not qualify for a bowl even with a win and they have shown, as previously mentioned, nothing against SEC big boys, a group which LSU undoubtedly still belongs to.
