A trip to Colorado will make most offenses come alive and that's what happened with Texas as they took 2 of three from Colorado, scoring 26 runs in the 3 games. Texas has played well on the road where they are 29-23 on the year, but still overall they are 4 games under .500 overall. The Halos lost their finale vs Minnesota, but still this year has been very hot of late as they have won 17 of their last 21 games and have outscored their opponent 99-39 in their last 16 games. LA has been solid at home this year, where they are 31-19 so far.
The Rangers rank 10th in scoring (4.31 rpg), 18th in hitting (.251) and 10th in homers (100), while on the mound they are 26th in ERA (4.32) and 28th in WHIP (1.39). The Angels rank 12th in scoring (4.23 rpg), 22nd in hitting (.250) and 6th in homers (108), while on the mound they are 7th in ERA (3.46) and 5th in WHIP (1.20).
Getting the ball for the Rangers tonight will be Colby Lewis, who is 9-4 with a 4.63 ERA in 19 starts this year overall, while on the road he has gone 6-3 with a 4.33 ERA in 10 starts. Lewis has bad numbers vs the Halos as he is 5-10 with a 6.17 ERA in 21 games (19 starts) vs them, while at Angel Stadium he is 3-4 with a 4.10 ERA in 9 games (8 starts)
Taking the hill for the Angels tonight will be Nicholas Tropeano, who is making just his 2nd start of the year. In his first start he pitched 6 shutout innings in a 2-0 win over the A's back in April. He is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 1 career start vs the Rangers.
Pick: I will go with the Halos in this one. They are playing much better ball that the Rangers and have a starter on the mound who can shutdown Texas. The Rangers offense had a good series, but that is vs the worst staff in the league and in a pure hitters park. That's not likely t happen here. The Rangers have lost their last 6 games vs the Halos when Lewis starts and the are just 6-21 in their last 27 games vs LA overall. These two teams are headed in opposite directions and i see that continuing tonight with another solid Angels win.
