The Boise State Broncos hit the road in college football action on Saturday when they take on the Nevada Wolfpack. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Broncos favored on the road by about a field goal.
Boise State needs a win, but it certainly won't be easy against a solid Nevada club in this one. The Mountain West is being led by Fresno State in the West, a game ahead of Nevada while Wyoming currently sits at 1-0 in the Mountain division, ahead of Boise State.
Both the Broncos and Wolfpack are in need of a win to keep pace in their divisions. Nevada could be 4-0 on the season, but they lost on the road by a touchdown to Arizona earlier this season. They responded well on both sides of the football last week in a 21-10 win over San Jose State.
Boise lost by a couple of touchdowns last week at Air Force in a game where starting quarterback Grand Hedrick was benched for throwing four interceptions. Ryan Finley came in and did a serviceable job, but Boise State was already pretty much down and out by that point. They will have to play better n this one if they are going to have any chance against a Nevada team that is very solid.
Cody Fajardo provides Nevada with a dual-threat option that will test the Bronco defense tonight. He'll want to play well in this game, especially after Nevada led last year over Boise at halftime, but couldn't hold on for the win.
Boise has won 13 of the last 14 matchups in this series, but the Wolfpack have covered in six of seven.
As solid as Nevada has been to start the season at 3-1, they have been out-gained against all three FBS teams this season by an average of 125 yards per game offensively. Boise State will be able to break through and knock off the Wolfpack tonight.
