The US Open Odds have changed up quite a bit since Tiger Woods show 75 in his third round and now sits five strokes off the lead. Now, the crafty veteran Jim Furyk holds down the top spot for being the odds-on favorite to win the US Open. Both Furyk and Graeme McDowell hold the lead at 1-under par following the first three rounds of the tournament with the fourth and final round getting underway today. There are several players within five shots of the lead, but with the way the course is playing, the 112th US Open probably will come down to Furyk and McDowell.
Currently the US Open Odds for Jim Furyk are 9/4 (Risk $100 to win back $225) which imply he has a 30.17 percentage chance to win the tournament, according to oddsmakers. McDowell is currently sitting at 5/2 (Risk $100 to win back $250) which imply he has a 28.57 percentage chance to win the tournament. Both odds are courtesy of the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Hilton) SuperBook.
Furyk has shot under par in only his second round while carding par 70s in both his opening and third rounds of the tournament. McDowell has been a bit more up and down, shooting a 1-under 69 on Thursday, a 3-over 72 on Friday and then shooting a 2-under round of 68 on Saturday to clinch a tie for the lead with Furyk heading into the final 18 holes of the championship. The US Open routinely ends on Father's Day in the United States, which will obviously be a great joy for the winning golfer and his family.
Additional US Open Odds for the remainder of the tournament include Lee Westwood 6/1, Tiger Woods 12/1, Fredrik Jacobson 12/1, Ernie Els 15/1, Nicolas Colsaerts 20/1, Jason Dufner 25/1, Webb Simpson 25/1, Blake Adams 40/1, John Senden 50/1, Matt Kuchar 50/1, Martin Kaymer 50/1, Kevin Chappell 80/1, Retief Goosen 80/1, John Peterson 100/1, Beau Hossler 100/1, Justin Rose 100/1, Sergio Garcia 100/1 and the Field (any other golfer) 15/1.
The odds for the rest of the participants in the tournament indicate that today should be a battle between Furyk and McDowell for the right to be called the United State Open Champion, something both McDowell and Furyk have already won before. Furyk won back in 2003 at Olympia Fields in Illinois while McDowell won in 2010 at Pebble Beach.
