The Americans begin their quest to capture the World Cup tonight when they take on another Top 10 team in the Australians. Group D might be considered "The Group of Death" as three teams come into this contest ranked inside the Top 10 in the world.
The United States are second, behind Germany. The Germans proved their worth yesterday by beating the Ivory Coast 10-0 in their opening game. The Americans will probably have a much closer game here.
USA has the talent — Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Hope Solo, Carli Lloyd — and they've been ranked as high as No. 1 in the world, but they still feel like they have something to prove in this World Cup after nearly winning in 2011. Jillian Ellis now takes over as the American coach after Tom Sermanni left and Pia Sundhage before him. Sundhage is now the coach for Sweden, who is also in Group D.
Sydney Leroux could prove to be a major impact player for the American. The Canadian-born forward has 35 goals for the Americans in International play and at age 25, joins Morgan as the future of American soccer.
There's too much talent here for the Americans.

Betting and Winning in the WNBA
According to pro handicapper Steve Fezzik, you don't even need to watch WNBA games to successfully bet the sport. He tells fellow handicapper Teddy Covers that the sportsbooks simply don't spend enough time setting good lines on the sport, so just following injury reports, like the one with top player Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury, will tell you what you need to know. Yes, the betting limits for WNBA are low, but the bright side to that is the wise guys leave WNBA alone, giving smaller stakes bettors more opportunities to succeed.
