The FIFA Women's World Cup continues tonight with defending champion Japan set to take on the Cameroon in the final scheduled game of the day. Cameroon did well for itself in the countries' inaugural World Cup match, blasting Ecuador 6-0 the other day. That's certainly big for Cameroon moving forward as they are tied with Japan with three points atop the group stage so far. Cameroon's goal differential could prove to be an important asset for them, even if they are to lose this game today.
On the other side of the group Switzerland is playing Ecuador, the Swiss are comfortable favorite to mop up that match. Cameroon will then take on Switzerland in the final group stage, which should become a big contest, even if Cameroon falls today to Japan.
The Japanese cruised in their opening match, even though it was a 1-0 win. They looked solid on all portions of the pitch and should do so again in this one. There's a good chance this contest is well played by both squads and ends up being a nice one to watch.
Cameroon has speed, athleticism and really nothing to lose. Japan will win, but we like Cameroon getting 1.5 in what should be a tight, one-goal type of game.
