The Virginia Cavaliers are hosting the Duke Blue Devils tonight in a massive college basketball game. The contest is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have the Cavaliers favored to win the game in what should be a close one.
College Basketball Odds
Virginia -1.5
Total: 135 points
Virginia’s only loss on the season came at the hands of?Duke, 72-70, just a couple of weeks back. Now the Cavaliers have a chance to play the Blue Devils on their own floor, a place where they should shoot better than they did at Cameron Indoor Stadium. In that game earlier this season, Virginia made just 3-of-17 from 3-point range. Duke was off a bit as well, Tre Jones didn’t play in that game because of a shoulder injury.
Zion?Williamson and RJ?Barrett scored 57 of Duke’s 72 points in that one. They also took 35 of the team’s 51 shots. Duke also didn’t get a single point from anybody coming off the bench in that game. Virginia allows just 53 points per game to opponents, so it will be interesting to see if they can slow down Duke’s impressive freshmen here and force someone else to score.
Virginia hasn’t lost at home in a calendar year, the Cavaliers last loss on their own floor came last year in a 61-60 defeat to Virginia Tech. It’s a tough place to play and Virginia seems to really clamp down defensively while there as well. Plus they have some added revenge from losing earlier this season, so they should be motivated.
