College Football Virginia Tech Hokies at Notre Dame Fighting Irish Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are taking on the Virginia Tech Hokies in college football action today. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. The college football odds for the game have the Fighting Irish favored by right around a field goal to pick up the win.

College Football Odds
Notre Dame -2
Total: 54 points

Notre Dame’s dumpster fire season continues with a pair of games to end the year against Virginia Tech and USC next week. ND will have to win both of those games in order to become bowl eligible at 6-6, where they would certainly be an attractive commodity for a potential bowl game.

The Fighting Irish are favored by right a round a field goal and if they can play as well as they did last week against Army they will have an excellent chance. DeShone Kizer threw for three touchdowns in that win and spread the ball out fairly well. Virginia Tech is known for its defensive prowess and they’ve played well in most of their games this season.

The three losses to Tennessee, Syracuse and Georgia Tech saw them surrender an average of better than 35 points, games where they just weren’t good enough defensively. Last week they gave up 309 to Georgia Tech on the ground, but Notre Dame isn’t exactly a team that is going to line up and run it every down.- The Hokies are going to need a good game from Jerod Evans. ND has been giving up a ton of points all season.

This is a game they can win and with the better overall defense, the Hokies will.
