The TCU?Horned Frogs are hosting the Texas Tech Red Raiders in college football action on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The college football odds for the game have the Horned Frogs favored to pick up the win.

It seems the oddsmakers can never find a number high enough for the total when it comes to a Texas Tech game. The Red Raiders can put up a ton of points but they can stop nobody defensively. In the team’s recent three-game losing streak they surrendered 44 to Kansas State, 48 to West Virginia and 66 last week to Oklahoma in a game where there were more than 1,700 yards of total offense combined between the two teams.
TCU can score some points (36 per game), so this should be fun. The Horned Frogs also give up nearly 31 per game themselves, so this game has the possibility to once again be one of those high-scoring affairs where both teams cross 40 points.
Patrick Mahomes III leads the country in passing, he’s already well over 3,000 yards on the season and has thrown for 26 touchdowns as well. There’s eight Red Raiders that have double digit catches on the season, they’re led by Jonathan giles with 53 catches for 917 yards and 11 scores to date. Mahomes threw the football 88 times last week against Oklahoma as well, so expect him to be putting it up quite a bit in this one.
TCU has a strong QB in?Kenny Hill and a great back in Kyle Hicks. Hill’s problem is turning it over too much, but he does have 20 touchdowns to date. Aside from a pair of one-score losses to Arkansas and Oklahoma, TCU’s only defeat was last week against West Virginia, where the Mountaineers held the Frogs to just 10 points. Don’t expcet that this week against a terrible Texas Tech defense.
