The 10th-ranked Florida State Seminoles play host to the South Florida Bulls in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Seminoles listed as a big favorite to cruise to the victory in this one.
This will be the first game to kick-off on Saturday, the third all-time meeting between the Seminoles and the Bulls. They haven’t met since 2012, where Florida State earned a 30-17 victory, but South Florida did shock the Seminoles back in 2009, so there is some interesting history between these two schools.
Everett Golson tossed for four touchdowns and 302 yards in the Noles opening-week victory over Texas State. Golson’s passer rating of 230.27 from that game was the fourth best of any quarterback in the country that opening week as well and if he doesn’t turn the football over, Golson should lead the Seminoles to another great season. South Florida will also have to slow down the Florida State run game as well. Dalvin Cook rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns while Mario Pender added 92 yards on 14 carries himself, also finding the end zone once. Florida State looked very solid offensively in their win en route to their 59 points.
South Florida posted 51 points themselves last week over Florida A&M. Marlon Mack led the way with 23 carries and 131 yards (with a TD) while both Quinton Flowers and Steven Bench tossed for 140 yards and three combined scores. Florida A&M obviously isn’t on the same wavelength as Florida State and the Bulls are going to have their hands full in this one.
Unless Golson turns it over, the Seminoles are going to cruise.
