College Football San Diego State Aztecs at Boise State Broncos Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Boise State Broncos welcome in the San Diego State Aztecs in college football action on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 10:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on EPSNu. Currently the odds for the game have Boise State favored by a couple of touchdowns in this one.

Boise State isn't the same team they were a handful of seasons ago, but this Bronco team still wants to win 10 games. A bad loss on the road at Air Force back in September is the only real blemish on their schedule, which included an opening-week loss to Ole Miss. Grant Hedrick has been throwing for a ton of yards this season, eclipsing the 2,600-yard plateau with 16 touchdowns. Offensively the Broncos have had little problems (outside of the Air Force game) by averaging 38 points per game. Not only do they throw the ball for a bunch of yards, Boise State also runs with Jay Ajayi for a boatload on the ground as well.

Ajayi has 1,146 yards on the ground and 14 touchdowns so far and is looking for more. San Diego State has one of the better overall defenses Boise State will have seen, however, so it could be a tough sled against the Aztecs. Opponents have scored only 20.2 point per game against San Diego State, but the Aztecs have slipped to a 5-4 record on the season. They have not been good on the road at all this season, sporting a record of 1-4, with the lone win coming over New Mexico.

Offensively San Diego State is very one-dimensional as Donnel Pumphrey is their only real home run threat. The running back has accounted for 1,200 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns this season. The Aztecs have just eight passing touchdowns all season, so opponents know they have to stop the run in order to beat San Diego State.

The Aztecs, though, are 2-1 over Boise the last three games. That might be hard to increase as Boise averages better than 133 yards per game compared to their opponents this season and the San Diego State offense is just not good enough outside of Pumphrey to pose a real threat.

Boise State sits with just one loss in the Mountain West, the same as Colorado State in the Mountain Division. The Broncos, though, knocked off Colorado State earlier this year so they own the tiebreaker over the Rams. As long as they keep winning, they will have a spot in the title game. Look for that to continue tonight.

Free Pick: Boise State 41, San Diego State 20
