College Football Rice Owls at Texas A&M Aggies Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Texas A&M vs. South Carolina: Score and Twitter Reaction

The Texas A&M Aggies welcome in the Rice Owls tonight in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have Texas A&M as a heavy favorite in this one at home.

Texas A&M is riding high after drilling South Carolina and Lamar, out-scoring those two opponents 125-31. They've looked good doing it, as well. Kevin Sumlin's group loves to score points, be flashy and take care of business — and they might be a better football team without Johnny Manziel.

Sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill has been very good the first two weeks of the season, leading the Aggies to better than 1,300 yards of total offense. Tonight they'll take on a Rice team that didn't play last week, but surrendered 48 points to Notre Dame in the season opener.

Both of these schools used to be in the Southwest Conference, which featured Texas and Arkansas universities but dissolved in 1996.

Texas A&M picked up a win over the Owls last year with Manziel suspended for the opening half. Rice led at halftime but went on to lose 52-31. The Owls haven't picked up a win in College Station since 1980, losing eight straight games there.

The case for Rice in this one doesn't get any easier when you see they're 0-23 since 1997 against ranked teams. They've covered the spread in only nine of those 23 games, as well.

Texas A&M burst onto the college football stage once again with a young, flashy quarterback in the opening week. They had no problems last week against Lamar in a glorified practice and now should have no problems with Rice. Sumlin once again has a great football team.

Hill should be able to continue throwing for touchdowns and moving the Aggie offense. He hasn't thrown an interception yet this season. The Aggies should roll here.

Free Pick: Texas A&M 51, Rice 20
