The
Ole Miss Rebels welcome in the
Presbyterian Blue Hose in
college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a noon
start time and it will be televised live on the SEC Network. Currently the
odds for the game have the
Rebels as a heavy favorite to win.
Ole Miss takes a week off from the SEC in this one here as they host a Presbyterian team looking to collect a check. That's all Ole Miss really needs in this one as the Rebels sport one of the best defenses in the country. While they've dropped two straight games overall, Ole Miss allows a country-leading 13.2 points to the opposition this season. Only Auburn last week has scored more than 20 points against Ole Miss this season.
The Rebels certainly are not feeling good following the gruesome injury to Laquon Treadwell last week which eventually lead to the loss for Ole Miss. Treadwell will now miss the rest of the season and the Rebels will look to somehow find a way to replace his explosiveness at the receiver position. Quarterback Bo Wallace found Treadwell for 48 passes this season and five touchdowns.
Wallace has thrown for more than 2,400 yards and 20 touchdowns so far this season, but has that gunslinger attitude and isn't afraid to make tough throws. That shouldn't be a problem against the Blue Hose in this one.
Presbyterian has lost two of its three road games this season, getting drilled by Northern Illinois and NC State by a combined total of 97-3. They'll play their final two games of the season away from home with this one and a matchup with Gardner-Webb next week.
The Rebels will be looking to avoid injury, run their offense and get out with a fan-pleasing win. SEC teams (outside of Auburn) have struggled to score points against Ole Miss this season, so it's tough to see Presbyterian crossing the goal line in this one at all.
The Ole Miss running game should see a lot of action. Wallace and the boys will still pitch it around enough to make it entertaining for the crowd, but Ole Miss will look to establish that run game early and dominate.
