College Football Ole Miss Rebels at LSU Tigers Start Time, Odds

LSU Football: Winners & Losers from the Week 12 Game vs. Ole Miss

A battle of Top 25 teams in the SEC takes place Saturday night when the third-ranked Ole Miss Rebels hit the road to take on the No. 24 LSU Tigers. The game is scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Rebels favored by a field goal to get the win on the road.

Ole Miss rolls into Baton Rouge on a Saturday night in Death Valley, which almost always ends in a bad result for the visitors. But the Rebels have one of the best teams in the country, one that isn't intimidated by anybody. Hugh Freeze has the boys rolling and ready to go, but that LSU crowd on a Saturday night is going to cause Ole Miss problems.

College Gameday will be in town for LSU homecoming. The Tigers have won nine of the last 12 overall against Ole Miss, but the visiting team is 12-3 against the number in this series.

LSU might be a bit warned down, though. They're playing for a ninth straight weekend and outside of a 41-7 loss to Auburn have played very well. They lost to Mississippi State in the fourth week of the season before the Bulldogs were ranked, which helped propel the Bulldogs into the rankings on their way to the No. 1 overall spot. Those combined 75 points against Mississippi State and Auburn are still 12 points more than the Tigers have given up in their other six games this season, all wins. That all correlates to the LSU defense giving up an average of 17 points per game this year.

Offensively the Tigers are still trying to figure some things out but Anthony Jennings is going to be a good quarterback. His decision making has to get a bit better and the Ole Miss defense is tough, too. The Rebels are tops in the country at allowing just 10.6 points per game, the high-water mark being 20 to Texas A&M a couple weeks back.

Bo Wallace has thrown for 17 touchdowns and nearly 1,900 yards and has lead Ole Miss to 35.4 points per game this season. If they get to 35 against LSU, they will be winning this game.

LSU, albeit young, will need to force Ole Miss to run the football. Wallace is one of the better quarterbacks in the country and LSU loves getting after the quarterback, but they struggle to average only 1.63 sacks per game, which ranks 93rd best in the country.

But LSU is ready to go in this one. The Tigers love being able to shock the world and playing at home on Saturday night is their speciality. Look for them to pick up a close win at home.
