College Football Odds Penn State vs Ohio State

No. 4 Ohio State will look to make it 20 straight tomorrow night when it hosts Big Ten Leaders rival Penn State at Ohio Stadium. Saturday's clash between the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes is scheduled to kickoff at 8:00pm ET on ABC. College Football Odds from 5Dimes are expecting an Ohio State victory with Urban Meyer's squad presently listed as a -15 against the spread favorite. The game total in tomorrow's rivalry tilt is set at 55.5 points.

Had Penn State played this game last weekend it may have been a bit too euphoric. The Nittany Lions were coming off an emotional four overtime win against Michigan to give them their first conference win of the season.

Thankfully for Penn State, it had last weekend off, giving it plenty of time to move past the big win and set its sight on undefeated Ohio State.

The Buckeyes improved to 7-0 last weekend, earning a 34-24 home win over Iowa, but to some the result was a disappointment as they were favored by 18.5 points.

It also continued a string of less dominant wins for Ohio State, which dispatched its first four opponents by an average of 37.3 points per contest. Since opening conference play the Buckeyes have scored wins of seven, 10, and 10 points.

Penn State may be just what Ohio State needs right now, though. Certainly the Nittany Lions are no pushover, but they have some holes, which were on full display in their 24-44 loss at Indiana on October 5th.

Penn State managed 410 total yards and averaged a pathetic 1.8 yards per carry against a Hoosiers defense that ranks 121st in yards per game allowed (498.1) and 111th against the run (221 rush yards per game allowed).

If the Lions cannot perform any better than that in Bloomington, it seems unlikely they will produce a great offensive effort in Columbus opposite a Buckeyes defense that is just 15 points and 278 yards per game at home.

Notable Trends: Penn State is 0-6 straight up and 1-5 against the spread in its last six games as a road dog with a spread between 14 and 17.5 points.

College Football Odds Penn State vs Ohio State:

Penn State Nittany Lions +15 (-110), Over 55.5 (-110), +525 (Moneyline)

Ohio State Buckeyes -15 (-110), Under 55.5 (-110), -750 (Moneyline)
