The Ole Miss Rebels, now ranked third in the country, travel to take on the Texas A&M Aggies in college football action on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Aggies favored by a field goal in this one.
The State of Mississippi is riding high after last week, with both the Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs being tied in the AP rankings at No. 3 after successful starts. In this game the Rebels travel to take on the Texas A&M Aggies, who are favored to knock off Ole Miss in a bigtime SEC matchup.
This is the first trip for Ole Miss down to College Station since the 1975 season. After knocking off Alabama last week it would make sense they'd lay an egg or at least not play up to expectations, which is why Texas A&M is favored in this one.
The Aggies last week were beat by a Mississippi State team that did everything right on both sides of the football. Texas A&M also has Alabama on deck next week, so their focus has to be key in this matchup against an Ole Miss team that can score points.
Bo Wallace has typically thrown interceptions and turned the football over in big contests. But last week Wallace and the Rebel offense played very well.
Ole Miss has only played once on the road, though. The Rebels beat Vanderbilt 41-3 back in the second week of the season before winning three straight games at home.
The Rebel defense has been as advertised this season, allowing just 10.2 points per game to opponents, which ranks second best in the nation. The 17 points last week score by Alabama was the most given up by the Rebels all season.
Texas A&M can score points and will need to eclipse 17 to beat the Rebels. The Aggies have averaged almost 48 points per game this season, which ranks third best in the country. They have a high-octane offense led by Kenny Hill, the next amazing quarterback under Kevin Sumlin. The Aggies should be able to move the ball in this one, but will Ole Miss give up a lot of points?
This game against Texas A&M on the road isn't going to be easy. The Aggies are favored for a reason, but with a road trip to Alabama next week it won't be easy. Look for points in this one with the Aggies winning a close one.
