The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are taking on the Navy Midshipmen in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The college football odds for the game have the Fighting Irish favored by a touchdown to pick up the win.

Notre Dame really shouldn’t be favored over anybody right now. Sure, they are coming off a solid win over visiting Miami last weekend, but the defense has struggled all season and a loss of confidence appears to have set in. The Fighting Irish will have to win three of its last four games just to finish with a 6-6 record but that looks to be tough with the remaining squads on the schedule.
Navy had one of the best wins of the season, at least we thought, when they knocked off Houston a couple of weeks ago. Since then we’ve seen Houston absolutely fall apart, struggling to beat Tulsa and UCF while falling in blowout fashion at SMU.
The Midshipmen love to run the football for almost 300 yards per game on average, nothing new for them. They’re coming off a loss to South Florida where the Midshipmen fell behind by four touchdowns that required them to throw the ball 25 times, something they aren’t used to. ND probably isn’t ready to take on that triple-option attack and with Army on deck, they’ll have to do it two weeks in a row.
DeShone Kizer and the offense can score, but Navy’s offense really soaks up the time of possession. That rushing attack, led by quarterback Will Worth, is going to be a problem here for the Irish.
