The Arizona State Sun Devils host the New Mexico Lobos Friday night in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Sun Devils listed as a massive favorite to pick up the win.

Arizona State got beat up in their first game of the year by Texas A&M, then struggled last week against Cal Poly. Many believe this year’s Sun Devils team is one that could be very special, but struggling out of the gate doesn’t help. Being favored by a ton of points over New Mexico is no surprise, especially with the Lobos love of running the football. If Arizona State builds up a huge lead in this game, it’s going to be tough for New Mexico to find a way back into it.

Arizona State won last year by 35 points, but had to out-score the Lobos 26-2 in the second half to pull away. The Sun Devils are taking on USC next, so the potential for a look ahead past the Lobos is possible, but Todd Graham should have his team ready to go, especially after two straight poor performances.

QB Mike Bercovici has four TD passes to date, D.J. Foster has looked explosive at times and Demario Richard has proven he can get the Sun Devils big chunks of yards. The offense should be able to control the flow in this game and Arizona State is going to be able to score points.

The Lobos shut out Mississippi Valley State in their opener, but gave up 40 to Tulsa last week. The Golden Hurricane scored 10 points in all four quarters despite New Mexico building an early lead. Defensively the Lobos were horrendous, allowing 600 yards of total offense to Tulsa in the defeat. It probably comes as no surprise that Arizona State is more talented than Tulsa, if they are interested in this game and can execute offensively, the Sun Devils will run away with this one.
