Mountain West rivals Nevada and Hawaii cap off this weekend’s college football action when they square off at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu tomorrow night (10:30pm ET start time, NBC Sports Network). Nevada vs Hawaii Odds like the visitor in this late night conference tilt as the Wolf Pack come in a -8 against the spread home favorite. Tomorrow evening’s Mountain West game total is set at 62.5 points.
Nevada stunned Cal to open the season; beating the Golden Bears 31-24 in Berkeley, but the Wolf Pack has been so-so since, losing 31-32 at home to South Florida and beating FCS school Northwestern State 45-34 at Mackay Stadium.
Still, Chris Ault’s squad is giving points in this rivalry scrap as most see the Warriors as a rebuilding team. Hawaii returned just 10 starters from last season’s 6-7 team and it has first year and first time head coach in Norm Chow.
Hawaii opened the season with a 49-10 loss at Southern California (still covered the 43.5 point spread), but it bounced back last weekend with a 54-2 whipping of Lamar (covered as a 35.5 point favorite).
Given Nevada’s recent success, one would be inclined to believe the Wolf Pack has gotten the better of this series in recent years, but that is not the case. The Warriors are 6-4 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 meetings with Nevada. Hawaii has also covered the spread in the last four games between the two schools, beating lines of 3.5 (outright upset), 29, 6.5 (outright upset), and 14.5 points.
Free Pick: Lean to Hawaii +8.
