The LSU Tigers have not been spectacular this season, but there is still a chance for them to have a great season. The rocky start for the Tigers has been marred by the team’s inability to have a solid quarterback in a game where having an elite quarterback can be the difference between making the college football playoffs.
Leonard Fournette is the real deal, but he can’t do it himself. He still hasn’t found the end zone this season but that could quickly change. Derrius Guice is an excellent second option for the Tigers, but without LSU being able to throw the football the run game could struggle.
Mississippi State is coming off a win over South Carolina following a season-opening loss to South Alabama. Neither game saw them look particularly strong; now they have to travel to Death Valley, on a Saturday night, where nobody comes home with a win.
Danny Etling is the starting QB for the Tigers, as announced by Les Miles on Friday. Elting and the Tigers can win this game by not turning it over and actually getting the ball vertically down the field.
