Iowa -28
Total: 51 points
Iowa really shouldn’t be favored by four touchdowns here. Sure, the Hawkeyes are coming off a spot in the Big Ten title game and nearly won that contest, but they were torched in the Rose Bowl by Stanford and now have had all summer to think about it.
Miami (OH) is a builders program under Chuck Martin, the former Notre Dame assistant under Brian Kelly. They’ve been terrible in recent years, picking up a combined five victories in three seasons, including an 0-12 campaign in 2013. Yet, under Martin they are showing some signs of improvements.
That doesn’t mean they will stay close here with Iowa, a team looking to get back into the Big Ten title discussion once again. The Hawkeyes are still run by Kirk Ferentz, so they will be methodical, look to consistently run the football and win the turnover margin.
Shouldn’t be too hard here.
