The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are hosting the Miami Hurricanes in college football action on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. The college football odds for the game have the Hurricanes favored by a slim margin on the road in this one.
College Football Odds
Total: 58.5 points
Notre Dame’s season continues to spin out of control. The Fighting Irish are just 2-5 on the season and it doesn’t look like they will have many other chances to improve the record. This game will be tough enough, though Miami is a team that was ranked highly just a month ago.
Now the Hurricanes have lost three in a row, all in conference play, but at least the defeats to Florida state and North Carolina were close. Last time out the Canes were grounded by Virginia Tech in a road game Miami dropped by three touchdowns. They certainly have to find a way to regroup from that with a big game from quarterback Brad Kaaya, who has 12 touchdowns on the season.
Kaaya and the Hurricanes need to be balanced on the offensive end, especially against a defense in Notre Dame that has been gashed all season in giving up 27.7 points per game, though that does include just 27 combined points in consecutive losses to NC State in a hurricane and a poor offensive team in Stanford.
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly got the vote of confidence from his athletic director and Kelly reacted negatively forward that to no one’s surprise. The Fighting Irish have a pretty good offensive unit led by DeShone Kizer, but they just can’t consistently put it together.
Miami has lost two in a row coming in, but they are still favored over the Irish.
