The Michigan Wolverines are hosting the Maryland Terrapins in college football action on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college football odds for the game have the Wolverines favored by quite a bit in this one.

Maryland coach DJ Durkin was on the Michigan staff last season, so he has an idea of what the Terps are up against here. That doesn’t mean his team will be up for the task at hand, though. Maryland looks like a team that will be turning its program around under Durkin, but it’s doubtful they will be able to win any of the next three games which come against these Wolverines, Ohio State next week and Nebraska the following week. But there is some light at the end of the tunnel as they play Rutgers the final week of the season.
Michigan is ranked third in the College Football Playoff and they have been impressive all season. Jim Harbaugh’s group has arguably the most talented player in the country with Jabrill Peppers and they have an offense led by quarterback Wilton Speight that doesn’t turn it over. Speight has just three interceptions on the season compared to 13 touchdowns and Michigan’s offense is averaging almost 47 points per game. The run offense is very strong at almost 250 yards per game and they have several guys they use frequently in De’Veon Smith, Chris Evans, Karan Higdon and Ty Isaac all post at least five yards per carry and have found the end zone multiple times.
Maryland isn’t ready to compete yet on this level, but they could score enough here to stay within 31.
