College Football Kent State Golden Flashes at Buffalo Bulls Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

64. Buffalo Bulls

The Kent State Golden Flashes travel to take on the Buffalo Bulls in MAC college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Currently the odds for the game have the Bulls favored to pick up the win at home.

Tough to watch this game unless you're a fan of either side. Buffalo is just 4-6 on the season and fifth in the MAC East, going 2-4. Kent State, on the other hand, is just 1-9 overall and 0-6 in the MAC.

The Golden Flashes are one of the worst teams in the country. Their only win on the season came over Army a couple of weeks ago but since then they've dropped three straight games. Kent State opened the season dropping their first six games, never scoring more than 17 points. For the season the Golden Flashes have averaged just 15.3 points per game. Defensively they surrender 29.5, which makes for a 1-9 season.

Buffalo can finish the season at .500 if they win tonight and over UMass next week. The Bulls do like to throw the football with Joe Licata having tossed 25 touchdowns already this season. When Buffalo can score some points they tend to be in games and they're coming off the highest point total of the season last week in a 55-24 drubbing of Akron. Buffalo has averaged 31 points per game this season themselves but their defense hasn't been any good, either, surrendering 33 points per game.

The Bulls are going to have to put pressure on Kent State quarterback Colin Reardon. The Golden Flashes do not have the running game to be able to alleviate the pass rush, averaging just 79 rushing yards per game. Without having the threat to run the football, Kent State is inviting the Buffalo defense to spend some time in the backfield.

While neither defense has been great this season and the weather is expected to be awful, taking the home team here against one of the worst in the country is the right move. Buffalo should be able to win this one.

Free Pick: Buffalo 24, Kent State 14
