College Football Kent State Golden Flashes at Bowling Green Falcons Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Bowling Green vs. NIU : Score, Grades and More from MAC Championship 2013

The Bowling Green Falcons welcome in the Kent State Golden Flashes in MAC college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have Bowling Green favored by nearly two touchdowns in this one.

Bowling Green sits atop the East Division of the MAC with a 4-1 record. They've got a comfortable lead, too, as Ohio is the second team in the division but are only 3-3 for the year. Bowling Green knocked off the Bobcats a couple of weeks ago, picking up a win on the road by nearly three scores. Since then Bowling Green is 1-1, though, losing to Western Michigan in their only conference defeat a couple weeks back.

Kent State has not had a good season. They've picked up just one win this year, beating Army 39-17 a few weeks ago. The Golden Flashes are 0-5 in the MAC and are being out-scored by an average of 15 points per game. Kent State is one of the worst teams in the country in scoring points, averaging just 14.8 for the season. Opponents are piling up 29.4 against the Golden Flashes every year.

Bowling Green will look to quarterback James Knapke to lead the charge. He's thrown for better than 2,100 yards and 11 scores on the season. The well-balanced offense also sees the Falcons pile up 171 yards per game on the ground. Both Travis Greene and Fred Coppet average better than 5 yards per carry and have combined for 13 touchdowns.

The next three games overall for Bowling Green are winnable, so playing in a solid bowl game is very possible for the Falcons. Losing here to a bad Kent State team does not fit the bill for Bowling Green, so expect a nice effort from the Falcons at home. Bowling Green is 3-1 in home games this season, including a win over Big 10 Indiana.

They'll take out Kent State in this one, on national television, and look good doing it.

Free Pick: Bowling Green 44, Kent State 17
