The USC Trojans open up their college football season tonight when they host the Fresno State Bulldogs. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have USC as a comfortable favorite to win this one.

USC has had an interesting week with some distractions, a player quitting and who knows what else. But the 15th-ranked Trojans are laying almost three touchdowns in this one and they should have no problems beating the Bulldogs at home. Fresno State no longer has Derek Carr, but they still will have the mentality of having no problems playing against a bigger, tougher team.
This probably isn't the way new coach Steve Sarkisian wanted to start his campaign in Los Angeles but he's going to be good enough to get his team ready for this opener.
USC and Fresno State are making their fourth all-time meeting on the gridiron in this one. They just played each other last year in a bowl game, but both clubs are going to look different.
The Trojans, prior to last year, had won 15 consecutive home openers but they were knocked off by lowly Washington State 10-7. Sark is going to have his boys ready to go in this one as he wants to return the Trojans to glory. They have 14 returning starters from last season back and should have some better depth this season as well.
Fresno State loves coach Tim DeRuyter, who is in that Pat Hill mode of being a gritty guy that gets the job done and expects the most out of his players. They've won 20 games the last two seasons but now have to move on from Carr tossing all kinds of touchdowns.
In this one we like Fresno to put a bit of a scare into USC early, but the Trojans are going to run away with this one. They're just too big, too fast and we expect Sark's club to want to make a statement in this one after all the negative attention brought on them this week.
