The Miami Hurricanes are hosting the Florida State Seminoles in college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. The college football odds for the game have the Hurricanes favored to pick up the home win.

This rivalry is certainly one worth watching. Florida State won both of the last two games in the series in close contests, which is always good for college football, and this one is going to be a tough one.

Miami has gone unbeaten to this point and they are strong at home sitting on that No. 10 ranking, something that has the Hurricane faithful enjoying as they are playing in the first year under Mark Richt. Only problem for the Hurricanes is their strength of schedule to this point. Miami has played nobody to date, Florida State will easily be the toughest opponent they have seen this season.

Florida State has two losses, last week’s defeat at home against North Carolina certainly has to sting. The Noles have been giving up all kinds of yards and points defensively, Louisville hung 63 on Florida State and North Carolina had 37 points last week, a game where the Tar Heels had an advantage early and hung on for the win. Florida State scored three touchdowns in the final quarter of that game but it still wasn’t enough.

With the Noles really needing a win, especially in a rivalry game they have taken care of in recent years, a win here is a must.
