A battle of Top 10 teams early in the season takes place on Saturday when the second-ranked Florida State Seminoles travel to take on the 10th-ranked Louisville Cardinals. The game is scheduled for a noon start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. The college football odds on the game have the Seminoles listed as a small favorite to head home with the win.

What a great game this has the potential to be. Both Florida State and Louisville have potential Heisman candidates, each has college football playoff aspirations and even the loser of this game is still alive as this big game is played early enough in the season.
Dalvin Cook has a couple of touchdowns already this season and has averaged better than five yards per carry this season. Lamar Jackson leads the Cardinals in passing (obviously) and running this season, piling up better than 1,000 total yards with 13 touchdowns.
To be fair, Louisville has played two very sub-par teams in Charlotte and Syracuse. Louisville has out-scored those two opponents 132-42.
Florida State picked up a great come-from-behind win over Ole Miss to open the season, a game where the world saw the emergence of freshman quarterback Deondre Francois. With him the Noles have a strong option that can only get better behind center. Francois has completed 69 percent of his passes through the two games and tossed three touchdowns against Charleston Southern last week.
Defense will be key in this game. Louisville has stock-piled yards all season, their 66 points per game probably is going to come down some as the Cardinals aren’t going to come anywhere close to that.
Talent-wise, Florida State has the better defense. That’s going to be the difference here.
