The Colorado State Rams are taking on the Idaho Vandals in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Thursday. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the college football odds for the game have the Rams favored by double figures to pick up the win.

This line might be a bit of an overreaction to Colorado State’s final two games of the season. In those games the Rams beat New Mexico and San Diego State while scoring a combined 112 points and holding each opponent to 31.
Then again, the Rams played very well the final two months of the season with only a couple of losses on the schedule — coming to Boise State and Air Force by a combined eight points. The Rams have averaged better than 47 points per game the last two months, only turning the football over three times during the process.
This is Idaho’s first bowl game since 2009. The Vandals are dropping a division within the next few seasons and joining the Big Sky Conference, which should suit them much better than the current Division 1 spot.
Colorado State covered the number in 10 of 12 games this season, they’re also on a run of seven straight ATS wins. Nick Stevens has been solid for the Rams the final half of the season, throwing 14 TDs and completing better than 65 percent of his passes. They also have a strong running game as well with three guys posting better than 500 yards on the ground and 22 combined touchdowns.
Colorado State is just too good here, even if this game is in Idaho’s back yard.
