The battle of Colorado is a tough way to open the season for both teams. Playing a rivalry game during the season is fantastic, but having all summer to stew about playing one in the opening week of the season has to have its challenges.
This game is being played in Denver, last year the Rams picked up a 27-24 victory in overtime, they did turn it over a few times and that really cost them. Colorado’s defense certainly improved last season and should make another improvement this year under defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt. Last year the Buffs cut almost 12 points per game off their defensive points per game.
Colorado State also is picking between a trio of young quarterbacks to be the signal caller, plus they lose several players to graduation off a pretty successful little run the past few seasons.
Colorado is getting a lot of love in this one, but that does seem like a big number. This game could be played in the 20s as well, which gives a nice look at the under.
