College Football BYU Cougars vs West Virginia Mountaineers Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to take on the BYU Cougars in college football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The college football odds for the game have the Mountaineers favored to pick up the victory at home.

College Football Odds
West Virginia -6.5
Total: 50.5 points

This game is being played in Landover, Maryland inside FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins.

BYU is still looking to move past the Bronco Mendenhall era, the Cougars are just 1-2 on the season and have just dropped two straight games to Pac-12 opponents. Each of the three games this season has seen BYU’s game decided by a field goal or less. The Cougs beat Arizona to open the season but have dropped a one-point game to Utah and a three-point loss to UCLA. This West Virginia team, especially playing in a neutral site game, won’t intimidate them.

West Virginia does have size and speed; the Mountaineers have wins over Missouri and Youngstown State so far this season and are piling up 559 yards of total offense per game. Skyler Howard has five TDs to date through the air, he’s also made a couple of plays with his feet that make him a dangerous QB.

BYU’s strength of schedule will help and there’s no doubt they want to be a part of the Big 12. A big win here over the Mountaineers would certainly help their candidacy, plus quarterback Taysom Hill is still in school and very talented.
