Saturday College Football and we will see the Virginia Cavaliers take on the Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. The game has a start time of 6:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas odds have the Seminoles listed as 20.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 55.5.   

Analysis: The Virginia Cavaliers come in off a blowout loss to Georgia Tech, and that loss now has them on a 3 game losing streak. Overall the Cavs are 4-5 on the year, including 0-3 on the road and 2-3 within the ACC. The Cavs check in at 0-6 ATS after playing Georgia Tech and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game, but also are 5-2-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Cavs are not a strong offensive team, ranking 72nd in total yards, 58th in passing, 74th in rushing and 85th in scoring (26.7 ppg). The defense for the Cavs has been decent this year, ranking 28th in yards allowed, 62nd vs the pass, 20th vs the run and 52nd in points allowed (24.2 ppg). 

The Florida state Seminoles come in ranked 2nd in the nation with an 8-0 record that includes a 4-0 record at home and a 5-0 mark within the ACC. The Noles have not been as dominant as last year as they come in just 2-6 ATS on the year. Florida State is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in November and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games, but also 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. The Noles are not as explosive on offense as last year, but still very solid as they come in ranked 34th in total offense, 9th in passing, 102nd in rushing and 15th in points scored (38.4 ppg). The defense has not been as strong for the Noles, as they come in ranked 63rd in yards allowed, 79th vs the pass, 52nd vs the run and 42nd in points allowed (22.8 ppg).

Pick: Going to look at Virginia to keep this one within 3 TDs. The Cavs have been a much more competitive team this year, while the Noles have not been as dominant, checking in with a 2-6 ATS mark on the year. Florida State has just 1 win vs an FBS team of more than 21 points and that was Wake Forest. The Cavs lost last week by 25 and that is their only loss by more than 8 points on the year and they have outstated 7 of their 9 opponents this year. The Cavs have what it takes to keep this one close.
