Current Vegas odds have the Rainbow Warriors listed as 10.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 55.5.
Analysis: The UNLV Rebels are having a miserable year as they currently have a 2-9 record overall, which includes A 1-5 mark in the MWC. The Rebels have really struggled on the road where they are 0-6 and have been outscored by 25.1 ppg. The Rebels are 16-43-4 ATS in their last 63 road games and just 3-12 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. UNLV has not been a good offensive team this year, ranking 84th in total yards, 47th in passing, 104th in rushing and 114th in scoring (20.3 ppg). The defense for this team has been very bad, ranking 126th in yards allowed, 78th vs the pass, 126th vs the run and 116th in points allowed (37.6 ppg).
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have also had a rough season as they come in with a 3-8 mark overall, which includes a 2-4 mark on the road and a 2-4 mark within the MWC. Hawaii is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game, but also just 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win. Hawaii is also not a good offensive team, ranking 121st in total yards, 85th in passing, 103rd in rushing and 116th in scoring (19.5 ppg). The defense has been average at best, ranking 83rd in yards allowed, 84th vs the pass, 90th vs the run and 60th in points allowed (26 ppg).
Pick: Gonna go with the Under in this one. Neither defense has been all that good this year, but these are two of the worst offenses in the nation and I just don’t see them getting much going here. Hawaii comes in averaging just 19.5 ppg and just 23.8 ppg at home, while UNLV has put up just 20.3 ppg overall and 16.2 ppg on the road. Mid 40s at best here.
