College Football Betting Odds Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs Memphis Tigers Free Pick

Friday night college football and we will see the Tulsa Golden Hurricane take on the Memphis Tigers at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN U. Current Vegas odds have the Tigers listed as 25 point favorites, while the total is set at 60.

Analysis:  Tulsa has not had a very good year so far, as they come in at 1-6, which includes a 1-2 mark within the AAC. Tulsa is also 0-3 on the road, getting outscored by 22.5 ppg in those games. The Golden Hurricane are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 trips to Memphis, but they are also 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Tulsa is not a great offensive team, ranking 52nd in total offense, 27th in passing, 88th in rushing and 97th in scoring (24.4 ppg). Defense is where this team has struggled this year, ranking 119th in yards allowed, 116th vs the pass, 105th vs the run and 122nd in points allowed, giving up 40.7 ppg.

The Memphis Tigers have gone 4-3 on the year so far, which includes a 2-1 mark at home and a 2-1 mark within the AAC. Memphis has a 7 point road loss to UCLA, a 27 point road win over Cincinnati and last week's 38 point road win over SMU on their resume, but they also did lose their last home game, which was a 28-24 decision to Houston. The Tigers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game, but they are also just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games. Memphis has been a decent offensive team this year, ranking 39th in total offense, 49th in passing, 38th in rushing and 30th in scoring (35.7 ppg). On defense they have been very solid, ranking 26th in yards allowed, 40th vs the pass, 35th vs the run and 17th in points allowed (19.3 ppg).

Pick: Gonna go with Memphis in this one. The Tigers are playing solid ball right now and they have the kind of defense that should really keep the Golden Hurricane in check. Tulsa’s big issues this year have been on the defensive side of the ball, where they have allowed a whopping 40.7 ppg and the Tigers can certainly take advantage of that, having scored 35.7 ppg on the year. Memphis has allowed just 15 ppg at home, while Tulsa has allowed 42.3 ppg on the road. This is a bad Tulsa team this year and they just won’t score nearly enough or get enough stops to keep this one within 4 TDs.
